Vitamin Deficiency Tests
The lack of certain vitamins and minerals in the blood can make you feel tired, can undermine your health and make you prone to illness and other medical problems.
For example, a lack of Vitamin D (which is a very common problem in Scotland) has been linked to a range of problems including extreme fatigue. YourGP offers a simple blood test to assess the levels of key vitamins and minerals in the body.
- We provide short-notice appointments and fast turn-around of results
- If required, we will advise on any necessary dietary changes you should make. We will prescribe the appropriate dose of any vitamin supplements
- Pregnant women and children are at particular risk of Vitamin D deficiency, as are people who spend much of their time indoors or in the shade
How it Works
If you think you might have a vitamin deficiency, phone to book a test. When you visit us, our doctor will discuss your lifestyle and take a medical history.
- We use a blood-test approach, so you will need to give a blood sample
We ask patients to phone for their results between 3.30pm and 4.30pm or we can e-mail results after speaking with you. When appropriate a follow up appointment will be arranged to discuss any areas of concern arising from the initial appointment. If you need a vitamin supplement we will provide you with a prescription and/or advice.

(When you book your appointment we will ask for a £50 deposit to secure the appointment. The £50 will be deducted from the cost of your consultation.)
