Gonorrhoea Test & Treatment
Gonorrhoea is a common sexually-transmitted disease, often referred to as ‘the clap’. If left untreated there is a risk of passing the infection on and developing serious complications. In women, this can include pelvic inflammation disease and infertility. In men, it can cause painful, swollen testes and infertility. Pregnant women with gonorrhoea can pass the illness to their child at birth resulting in severe infections in the baby.
In many cases there are no symptoms, however, gonorrhoea can present as a thick discharge from the sexual organs (in both men and women) as well as other symptoms including painful urination, painful anus, sore throat or, sometimes, eyes.
A Gonorrhoea test is done by urine or, if discharge is visible, then a swab is the best option.

“I was surprised to meet a GP with such a ready smile and willingness to give me the time I needed. I felt we had a conversation as equals and that she actually heard what I said. A couple of blood tests, a physiotherapy referral and I am better than I have been in a very long time”View more testimonials
