Genital Warts Treatment
You can develop genital warts, which mostly affect people in their 20s, via unprotected sex or other genital skin-to-skin contact.
Genital warts are small pinkish-white lumps – similar to those you can get on your hands. If you feel that you may have developed them, you should consider getting tested and getting treatment for genital warts.
Genital warts are caused by the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus). They grow in the moist tissue of both male and female sexual organs and can appear on the vagina, vulva, penis, scrotum or anus.
An HPV test at YourGP in Edinburgh offers:
- Short-notice appointments
- Complete confidentiality and the ability to remain anonymous
- Treatment carried out in-situ during appointment
How It Works
When you arrive at YourGP in Edinburgh, our clinician will discuss your sexual history and carry out a visual examination. If you do have genital warts, they will be treated. Genital warts can be stubborn to treat and it is common to require several treatments.
- This is usually done by freezing the genital warts (using the Histofreeze system) or using a cream or liquid
- Follow-up treatment for genital warts will be necessary
Appointment (includes treatment if required): £130
Follow-up treatment: £100
(When you book your appointment we will ask for a £50 deposit to secure the appointment time. The £50 will be deducted from the cost of your consultation)
