Chlamydia is the most commonly diagnosed STI in the UK. It is important for any sexually active people to have regular testing.
Chlamydia is a bacterial infection transmitted by unprotected sex (and less commonly by oral sex). Most women and approximately 50% of men have symptoms, but if left untreated it can cause serious health problems and may lead to infertility.
A Chlamydia test is done by urine or, if discharge is visible, then a swab is the best option.
