Chlamydia is the most commonly diagnosed STI in the UK. It is important for any sexually active people to have regular testing.
Chlamydia is transmitted by unprotected sex (and less commonly by oral sex). It can affect men and women. In many people it has no symptoms, but can cause pain during urination or a discharge from the vagina or penis. If left untreated it can cause long-term health problems and lead to infertility.
A Chlamydia test at YourGP offers:
- Short-notice appointments
- Complete confidentiality and the ability to remain anonymous
- Fast turnaround of results
- Test carried out in an accredited laboratory
If you receive a positive result we are able to offer advice, support and any necessary treatment.
How It Works
When you arrive our practitioner will discuss your sexual history with you and take a urine sample (women can have a swab test instead if preferred).
- Where appropriate a follow up telephone consultation will be arranged to discuss a positive or result of concern
We ask patients to phone for their results between 3.30pm and 4.30pm. We can e-mail your results after talking with you.
For Chlamydia, treatment is usually a single dose of antibiotics (we recommend current and recent sexual partners are also tested).
£200 (includes consultation fee)
Treatment/medication costs will be extra.
(When you book your appointment we will ask for a £50 deposit to secure the appointment. The £50 will be deducted from the cost of your consultation)
“I never imagined being able to open up and discuss so deeply my early life abuse, held back by embarrassment and fear, with Dr Myskow – for the first time ever – I felt completely safe and supported; not judged or disbelieved on any level. I would say she genuinely cares and has helped me immensely”View more testimonials
