YourGP provides vaccinations against the human papillomavirus (HPV) in Edinburgh. This provides protection against problems such as cervical cancer and genital warts.
In Edinburgh, we provide HPV vaccinations using the GARDASIL® Human Papillomavirus Vaccine. GARDASIL® works when it is given before there is any contact with the relevant HPV types (which can be transmitted through sexual contact).
GARDASIL® is for females and males ages 9 to 26. It is not suitable for women who are pregnant.
While it is accepted that all girls should be given the HPV vaccine, boys are currently not on a government programme for the HPV vaccine. However, following a serious rise in HPV-related cancers in young men, we strongly advise parents to immunise their sons as well as daughters. This can be done from the age of 9 and prior to sexual involvement commencing.
Depending on the child’s age, a two or three-injection course is required for HPV vaccination in Edinburgh.
When you come in for your treatment we will discuss the HPV vaccination with you and make you as comfortable and calm as possible.

The facilities and patient service are second to none. The treatment I received for my eczema was innovative, holistic and most importantly highly effective. My skin has responded to the treatment I was prescribed. I am delighted with the resultant, significant reduction in my symptoms. I was impressed by the caring, sensitive and professional treatment I received. This was in stark contrast to my experience at my usual GP and at private consultations with supposedly eminent and specialist dermatologists. Thank you.
