Private GP Services & Occupational Healthcare in Edinburgh, UK.

      We are staying open

      Open as normal

      Posted on December 23rd, 2020

Following the recent government announcement that mainland Scotland will enter level 4 restrictions from Saturday 26th December 2020, YourGP can confirm that the practice will be open after we return from the Christmas break, on Monday 28th December (click here for our festive opening hours). As a medical practice we have a number of patients who receive ongoing care and treatment, so it is important that we continue to provide services to those who need them. We will continue to implement a number of precautionary measures to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.

Although the practice will be open, during level 4 restrictions we will not be offering any cosmetic services. We are also making adjustments to some existing appointments, but anyone affected will be contacted by the practice in advance. If you have any questions or concerns about an upcoming appointment, please contact us on 0131 225 5656 or by email to reception@your.gp.

We are able to offer face-to-face appointments, where possible. However, it is important to note that anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should not attend the practice.

      COVID-19 symptoms

The government has provided information on the key symptoms of COVID-19 to look out for, which include:

      • High temperature
      • New, continuous cough
      • Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

Most people with COVID-19 will experience at least one of these symptoms.

If you are experiencing symptoms, it is vital that you do not visit YourGP, as this may put others at risk. Instead, it is essential you do the following:

      • Get a test to check if you have coronavirus as soon as possible – click here for more information
      • You and anyone you live with should stay at home and not have visitors until you get your test result – only leave your home to have a test.

Anyone in your support bubble should also stay at home if you have been in close contact with them since your symptoms started or during the 48 hours before they started.

What we’re doing to keep you safe

We’re taking significant precautions to maintain your safety, and the safety of our staff, during this period. These include the following:

      • We ask that all patients attend appointments on their own. If this is not possible, please let us now in advance to ensure we can accommodate you
      • You’ll be screened for COVID-19 symptoms when you book your appointment and on the day of your visit to the clinic
      • Upon arrival, you will be provided with hand sanitiser
      • We ask all patients to wear a mask/face covering
      • All staff will also be wearing masks
      • We have social distancing measures in place
      • We have enhanced cleaning procedures in place and will be disinfecting our clinic regularly. This involves disinfection with 1000ppm chlorine and regular sanitising of high-touch surfaces, such as door handles and light switches.
      • We are operating with staggered appointment times. This is to reduce the number of patients waiting, and to allow the consultation rooms to be cleaned in between appointments
      • For everyone’s safety our clinicians will wear full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during appointments

If you would like further information about appointments at YourGP, please email reception@your.gp and we will be happy to help.

Just a massive thank you for being so willing to help us out. I was kept up to date in all email communication between the two clinics which I found very reassuring. I honestly can not emphasize enough how grateful we both are that the clinic was able to help us out with the Zita West fertility tests. We really did not know what we were going to do after the mix up with the blood collection dates due to the 4th of July in America and really thought we would have to give up on these tests so it means a massive amount to us that we have been able to proceed with them because of your willingness to help us out. Thank you again.
