They say a problem shared is a problem halved. And indeed, when it comes to any kind of health concern, it is always best to speak to a medical professional as soon as possible so that the appropriate care can be provided. Read on as we explain why we at YourGP believe a face-to-face GP appointment is one of the best ways to discuss health worries and how we are making it as easy as possible for you to access expert healthcare right when you need it.
Why it’s good to talk in-person
For many people, one of the biggest challenges of the pandemic was the inability to speak to a GP face-to-face. At YourGP, we know that seeing a medical professional in-person can make a real difference. Ensuring all our patients are truly listened to and understood is something we pride ourselves on, and that is why we work hard to provide a relaxed, no-rush environment where every patient can talk openly and freely.
We also offer extended appointment times to give you the space to share all the relevant information, enable us to ask all the appropriate questions, and talk through all answers.
We understand what a comfort it can be for some patients to see the same familiar face – a GP they have got to know over time, someone that understands their full medical history, and someone they can trust to make the right decisions. And that is why we carefully select every member of our team – we choose them not just for their qualifications and experience, but for their approachability and friendly manner.
Remote consultations also available
Of course, we understand that there are circumstances where a face-to-face GP appointment just isn’t possible. We therefore also offer telephone and video consultations to make it as easy as possible for you to get the help you need.
Be seen as soon as possible
We understand the stress and worry caused by a prolonged wait for a GP appointment. It is because of this frustration that some people mistakenly head to A&E for a non-emergency in the hope of speaking to a doctor. But this is not the answer and only exacerbates NHS waiting times at A&E.
Instead, YourGP offers short-notice appointments so you can speak to a healthcare professional when an issue arises and get the treatment you need as soon as possible.
Appointment times to suit you
YourGP is open Monday to Saturday, with extended hours on Thursday so you can book an appointment at a time that suits you. Our Occupational Health team also offer bespoke corporate packages, allowing you to see a healthcare professional during working hours if required.
