Meet Laura

Born and raised in Edinburgh, Laura studied at Napier University and graduated in 2002, before jetting off to the other side of the world to put everything she had learned into practice. Settling in Australia, Laura specialised in renal medicine for more than 10 years, before moving back to the UK where she entered primary healthcare in the community. Her career path then led her to the private sector where she began to specialise in travel medicine – an appropriate sector, considering her well-travelled background!

What to expect at your travel clinic appointment

YourGP offers a comprehensive travel service so you can embark on your journey with full peace of mind. During your appointment, Laura will ask you a series of questions about your trip, she will ask you to complete a short travel questionnaire and discuss your travel plans. Based on this information, Laura will provide the latest safety information relating to your destination, as well as advice about any necessary precautions you should take. She can also administer all the necessary vaccines to protect you against several infections, such as yellow fever and hepatitis A. Plus, she can prescribe medication such as anti-malarial prophylactics.
