Here at YourGP, we understand that everyone’s healthcare journey is completely different, and that a thoughtful and understanding approach can help a great deal to put patients’ minds at ease. This is where our Practice Nurse, Laura Main, excels.
Born and raised in Edinburgh, Laura studied at Napier University and graduated in 2002, before jetting off to the other side of the world to put everything she had learned into practice. Settling in Australia, Laura specialised in renal medicine for more than 10 years, before moving back to the UK where she entered primary healthcare in the community. Her career path then led her to the private sector where she began to specialise in travel medicine – an appropriate sector, considering her well-travelled background!
Laura loves meeting people and helping to make their healthcare journey as stress-free as possible. Given her thoughtful approach to all she does at YourGP, it’s no surprise that in her spare time, Laura enjoys practicing meditation, mindfulness and yoga. She also continues to expand her mind through her love of reading, and finds peace on long walks in the Scottish countryside where she can truly switch off and relax.
