Aesthetics services at YourGP: Helping you prep for party season

    Posted on November 18th, 2023

How much time does the average UK woman spend getting ready for a Christmas night out? The answer is apparently 5 hours and 38 minutes*. That’s a lot of preening and pampering! And it’s easy to understand why – everyone wants to look their absolute best for party season. But what if you could cut the prep and spend less time trying to minimise the look of fine lines and wrinkles? What if, instead, you had the confidence to head straight to a festive night out knowing your skin looks smoother, firmer and more youthful? It’s possible with a little helping hand from YourGP’s experienced aesthetics doctors…

Why we’re the number one choice

YourGP offers a range of medical aesthetic treatments, including anti-wrinkle treatments and dermal fillers. Whilst some of these treatments might be available elsewhere, our patients choose YourGP for three key reasons:

    • All treatments are administered by highly qualified aesthetics doctors, regulated by the GMC, making us the safest choice.
    • We treat every patient as an individual and can tailor treatments to address your exact concerns.
    • We are discreet. All our aesthetic treatments are carried out in our two Edinburgh medical practices, which is ideal for those who prefer to keep their ‘tweakments’ on the downlow. (Anyone who spots you paying us a visit will probably just assume you have a GP appointment!)

    Enjoy a complimentary consultation

If you’re new to the world of medical aesthetics and you’re unsure which treatment is right for you, you can have an in-depth chat with the doctor who will explain how each treatment works, assess your suitability, and answer any questions you might have.

    Considering an anti-wrinkle treatment?

If you’re bothered by deep creases between your eyebrows, frustrated by frown lines on your forehead, or tired of crow’s feet around your eyes, an anti-wrinkle treatment could be the solution. This treatment works by making the targeted muscles relax. This causes the overlying skin to become smooth, resulting in a more naturally youthful appearance.

The effects usually last 3-6 months, depending on the depth of your contours and whether you have previously had any treatment to the area. To ensure you get the very best results, we’ll advise you to make a follow-up appointment two weeks after your treatment to enable us to assess the results and top up if required.

    Thinking about dermal fillers?

Nose-to-mouth grooves, acne pits, scarring, sunken cheeks and sagging jowls all have the potential to be successfully rectified with dermal fillers. Dermal fillers use a natural, biodegradable gel that works within the layers of your skin to replace and restore facial volume. Essentially, they can give you back the round contours, high cheekbones and defined jawline that gravity takes away.

Dermal fillers are injected using a very fine needle and they contain a numbing agent called lidocaine for your comfort. The treatment takes an average of 30 minutes and the effects can last for up to 9 months.

Get on with your day thanks to minimal downtime

Whether you choose to have an anti-wrinkle treatment, dermal fillers, or a combination of the two, all our aesthetic treatments have minimal downtime, so you can get on with the rest of your Christmas preparations, confident in the knowledge that you look your best.

If you’d like to book an appointment for a medical aesthetics treatment at YourGP, you can choose a date and time that suits you via our simple online booking system, or you can email reception@your.gp. Alternatively, you call us on 0131 225 5656 or arrange a call back via our website.

When Lyn booked me with Dr McFarlane and said ‘what he doesn’t know about sexual health isn’t worth knowing’ she was right. Thorough assessment, quick test and immediate treatment all in a relaxed, professional manner – Excellent!
