Cellulite is completely harmless and it’s more common than you might think – affecting people of all shapes and sizes. Despite this, for some people cellulite can have a considerable negative impact on their confidence. So for anyone with a bum, hips or thighs that are more dimpled than they’d like, read on to find out how a simple treatment at YourGP could help.

    What is cellulite?
Cellulite is caused by normal fat beneath the skin. The bumpy appearance comes from fat pushing against connective tissue, causing the skin above it to pucker and leave a less than smooth appearance.

    What causes it?
It’s caused by a number of contributing factors, including genetics. Although it’s more common in women, men can get it too.

Is cellulite an indicator of a weight issue?
Absolutely not. Having cellulite does not mean you’re overweight. In fact, even people who eat healthily and exercise regularly can suffer from stubborn cellulite.

What can I do about it?
Here at YourGP, we offer a fantastic treatment called Lift-Shape. It’s a non-invasive yet highly effective treatment that helps to tighten the skin.

    How does it work?
The deeper layers of the skin are targeted with radio wave energy and the heat breaks down any fatty deposits to give a noticeable lift.

    Does it hurt?
No, in fact most people describe it as a pleasant, warming sensation.

How many sessions would I need before I see results?
After just one treatment you’ll notice your skin is more toned and in better condition than before. However, for more prolonged improvements we recommend a course of six treatments.

    How much does it cost?
Prices for the treatment start from £150, depending on the size and area of the body being treated. If you’d like to find out more click HERE. And if you’d like to book a consultation, call us on 0131 225 5656 or email reception@your.gp.

Doctors and reception staff are always incredibly accommodating and polite. Can’t recommend enough!
