Why everyday should be ‘Companies that Care Day’

      Posted on February 22nd, 2021

Feeling like your employer truly understands, values, and cares about you can make all the difference to your working life. In fact, it can have a hugely positive effect on your life outside the office too. And so this year the Occupational Health professionals at YourGP are lending their support to Companies that Care Day on 18th March. Because we believe that by helping businesses make simple, positive changes to their working environments and culture, we can boost the physical and mental health and well-being of employees everywhere.

The aim of Companies that Care Day is to educate and inspire employers to analyse their work culture and strive to integrate 10 key factors into their daily business practices:

10 characteristics of socially responsible employers

      1. Sustain a work environment founded on dignity and respect for all employees
      2. Make employees feel their jobs are important
      3. Cultivate the full potential of all employees
      4. Encourage individual pursuit of work/life balance
      5. Enable the well-being of individuals and their families through compensation, benefits, policies and practises
      6. Develop great leaders, at all levels, who excel at managing people as well as results
      7. Appreciate and recognize the contributions of people who work there
      8. Establish and communicate standards for ethical behaviour and integrity
      9. Get involved in community endeavours and/or public policy
      10. Consider the human toll when making business decisions

That fifth point is exactly where the Occupational Health specialists at YourGP can help. We provide an extensive range of services and can create bespoke packages to suit your individual business needs. By working with us and investing in the health of your employees, the whole team can benefit from being part of a supportive working environment where everyday feels like Companies that Care Day.

The facilities and patient service are second to none. The treatment I received for my eczema was innovative, holistic and most importantly highly effective. My skin has responded to the treatment I was prescribed. I am delighted with the resultant, significant reduction in my symptoms. I was impressed by the caring, sensitive and professional treatment I received. This was in stark contrast to my experience at my usual GP and at private consultations with supposedly eminent and specialist dermatologists. Thank you.
