At YourGP we are always looking for new ways to help our patients. We do this by hiring highly qualified and accomplished members of staff – many of whom are renowned experts in their field. We also introduce new therapies and treatments for the benefit and convenience of our patients.
We are very proud and delighted to announce that we are now offering Speech & Language Therapy to our patients.
We would like to welcome Sweta Ramburrun to the YourGP team. Sweta is our highly qualified, HCPC registered, Speech and Language Therapist. Sweta can help both adult and children with a wide variety of speech and language difficulties.
If you are struggling with receptive and expressive language, then speech and language therapy could help you overcome these obstacles. We are also able to help and work with people who have acquired neurological conditions after suffering a stroke or brain injuries. We can also help with dysphagia (trouble safely eating, drinking and swallowing) after suffering neurological conditions.
Vocal changes can also be worked with and, in some cases, corrected following ENT surgery or even more severe conditions such as head and neck cancers, as well as any other vocal changes.
We don’t just focus on the physical either; we can address and work through the mental health of the person in need of speech and language therapy, as well as addressing disturbances of language comprehension during this time. Sweta is also experienced with and sensitive when working with adults and children with learning disabilities who may have additional needs when enhancing their functional communication skills.
Whilst Sweta does work with children and adults, there are certain services that are offered exclusively for children.
Sweta can help children with specific language impairments, such as Dyslexia, improve their acquisition of oral and written language skills. On top of this, Sweta is also an expert at helping children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder.
For children who are bi-lingual, Sweta also offers services to help facilitate the acquisition of an additional language.
If you feel that you could benefit from speech and language therapy, but aren’t sure, we offer an initial consultation free of charge. This can last for up to an hour and can give you and Sweta an opportunity to discuss the therapy and any treatments, as well as your expectations.

We’re here for you when you need us.
Called Sunday at 2pm seen next day at 12pm. I had the Kenelog injection and it’s been like a switch to turn off my hay fever. From sweating and sneezing all day it’s been a complete transformation and for the first time I’m enjoying the summer. Excellent service.
