fireworks in Edinburgh

Posted on February 12th, 2015

In our previous blog post, we explained how YourGP is helping to support and raise awareness of LGBT History Month 2015, an awareness campaign to celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender lives and culture, and challenge prejudice and discrimination.

In Scotland, LGBT History Month is managed by LGBT Youth Scotland, and its volunteers have collaborated with groups and organisations all over the country to deliver a programme of arts, cultural and educational events.

In this blog post, we take a look at some of the events that are still on offer in Edinburgh throughout the remainder of LGBT History Month.

12 February – Out There: Waterstones West End

Acclaimed writer Zoë Strachan presents readings Scotland’s leading and emerging LGBT writers, followed by a discussion on the past, present and future of Scottish LGBT writing.

I never imagined being able to open up and discuss so deeply my early life abuse, held back by embarrassment and fear, with Dr Myskow – for the first time ever – I felt completely safe and supported; not judged or disbelieved on any level. I would say she genuinely cares and has helped me immensely
