Kiss goodbye to signs of ageing this Valentine’s Day

Kiss goodbye to signs of ageing this Valentine’s Day

      Posted on January 15th, 2025

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. For many of you, this means making an extra effort so you can enjoy a special evening with your loved one. From selecting the right outfit to picking out a new perfume, it’s the little things that can make a big difference to how you look and feel about yourself. And the same can be said for aesthetic treatments. Sometimes a subtle ‘tweakment’ is all that’s needed to give your confidence a significant boost. With that in mind, the aesthetic experts at YourGP are here to discuss some of their most popular treatments, designed to ensure your lips are truly kissable in time for Valentine’s Day.

The ageing process – the mouth says it all!

Signs of ageing typically start to appear on the face from age mid to late 20s. From this point, collagen levels start to deplete and this can be most noticeable around the mouth area. Lips start to lose their youthful volume, becoming thinner and less defined. Fine lines and wrinkles can start to form around the edges due to years of muscle contraction. The corners of the mouth can start to turn down due to loss of facial volume and structure, and the resulting sagging of the skin can cause the mouth to have a permanently sad expression, and can progress into marionette lines that run from the corners of the mouth down to the chin.

These are all natural signs of ageing, but the age and degree to which they appear is dependent on a combination of genetic and lifestyle factors. Smoking, sun exposure, pollution, poor diet, inadequate sleep, stress and hormones can all accelerate the process.

      Reversing the signs of ageing

If you’re unhappy with how your mouth area has changed over time, help is available at YourGP. Some of our most popular treatments include:

      • Dermal fillers to add volume and definition to the lips
      • Dermal fillers to fill out the marionette lines
      • Anti-wrinkle injections to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles around the lips
      • Anti-wrinkle injections to relax the muscles, causing the upper lip to “flip” slightly upward and create the appearance of larger lips

Needed to arrange an offshore medical fairly quickly and they fitted me in the same day. The entire experience from initial enquiry to consultation was first class!
