Here at YourGP, we aim to make our services as accessible as possible. In addition to our Dean Village practice, this year we opened a brand new practice right in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town to make it even easier for city centre residents and those who work in the capital to attend appointments. However, we understand that there may be times when patients cannot attend either practice for various reasons. That’s why we are happy to provide a GP home visit at your convenience.

Access expert healthcare right when you need it

If you live within a 5-mile radius of Edinburgh and you cannot get to either of our practices because of a medical condition, mobility issues, or any other reason, we will be happy to arrange for one of our GPs to visit you in the comfort of your own home.

This service also applies to anyone visiting Edinburgh and staying at a hotel – you don’t have to be registered as a patient at YourGP to book a GP Home Visit.

Living or staying outwith a 5-mile radius of Edinburgh? We can still visit, however please be aware that this will incur additional travel costs. We will of course advise you what these will be at the time of booking.

Just as with practice visits, our GPs are able to issue appropriate prescriptions during your appointment and if required, we can make specialist referrals to private consultants or private hospitals.

The aim of every home visit is to provide a reassuring and friendly ear within your familiar environment. Whether it be in the practice or in your home, every appointment at YourGP focuses on getting you back on the road to health as soon as possible.

Making our services even more accessible

As well as providing GP home visits, YourGP aims to make our services as accessible as possible in a range of other ways. Firstly, we offer a rapid booking system to enable you to make a GP appointment with us as quickly as possible. Choose a date and time that suits you via our simple online booking system, or you can email reception@your.gp. Alternatively, you call us on 0131 225 5656 or arrange a call back via our website.

We also offer short-notice appointments, so you can a speak to a GP as soon as possible, often within 24-48 hours, to help put your mind at ease.

Finally, we provide extended opening hours so you can book an appointment at a time that is most convenient for you.
