When it comes to healthy living, it’s fair to say students get a bad rap. A wild Fresher’s Week of drinking, late night partying, a diet of takeaways… However, despite the stereotypes, we at YourGP know there are a great many students that take their health seriously. Look at the recent news that Dundee’s Abertay University shut its Student Union bar, for example, because so many students were cutting out alcohol! So whether you’re a Fresher who’s new to the city and you’re looking for a GP you can rely on, or you need to see a doctor at short notice before you’ve had a chance to register anywhere, read on to find out how YourGP could help.

Students arriving at university for the first time are advised to ensure their vaccinations are all up to date. In particular, it’s essential to check you have received the Meningococcal ACWY immunisation to protect yourself against meningitis and septicaemia which can be life-threatening. Similarly, it is vital you have received two MMR immunisations to protect yourself from the highly infectious conditions, measles, mumps and rubella. Thankfully YourGP carries a full range of vaccines, ensuring you have a safe start to uni life.
