Banish wrinkles before party season arrives

Banish wrinkles before party season arrives

      Posted on September 11th, 2025

Party season is just around the corner and we all want to look our absolute best when we’re taking to the dancefloor with colleagues, reuniting with friends, and enjoying festive feasts with the family. So if there’s something that has been niggling away at your confidence for a while, now is the time to speak to the aesthetic experts at YourGP.

      Christmas is coming

We’ve seen it time and again at the practice – aesthetics patients that have got the perfect cocktail dress picked out, and the heels and handbag to match, but they just don’t feel like their usual, confident self. Quite often it’s because of those little signs of ageing that appear on the face, that no amount of exfoliating, toning and moisturising can reverse.

Losing skin elasticity and gaining wrinkles is a normal part of ageing. But if it’s affecting the way you feel about yourself, we’re here to help you tackle those tell-tale signs safely and effectively.

      What are the options?

Dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections can be used to successfully counteract some of the most common skin concerns if administered in a registered clinic environment by a medical expert.

Dermal fillers can be used to effectively counter volume loss, and anti-wrinkle injections can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines by relaxing the muscles, creating smoother looking skin. A qualified and experienced aesthetics expert, such as YourGP’s Dr Cathrow, can combine these treatments for great results that still look natural.

      It pays to be prepared

There’s always so much to do in the lead up to Christmas, but if you’re considering getting an aesthetic treatment, it’s always best to get organised and plan ahead.

Anti-wrinkle injections, for example usually take up to two weeks for the full effects to be apparent. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, can take up to four weeks to settle. After this time, your aesthetics doctor may wish to see you for a follow-up appointment to analyse the results and make adjustments if necessary.

So book your appointment in October or November for full peace of mind ahead of the festive rush.

I was in significant amount of pain and was seen very quickly by Dr McFarlane. He was able to immediately identify the problem. He carried out the minor surgery immediately, with great skill. I would not hesitate in recommending him as an excellent GP.
