Lip flips, bunny lines and golf ball chin dimples

Lip flips, bunny lines and golf ball chin dimples

      Posted on October 28th, 2024

If you’re new to the world of aesthetic treatments, you might be a little confused by some of the lingo used by beauty writers, bloggers and influencers. And that’s understandable, because some of the terms do sound bizarre! Are you familiar with a “lip flip”, for example? Could you point to your “bunny lines”? Or would you say you’ve got “golf ball chin dimples”? Don’t worry if all this sounds like another language – the aesthetic experts at YourGP are here to reveal what they all mean.

      Lip flip

For those looking to add a little volume and definition to their lips, a lip flip treatment could be the answer. Here at YourGP, we apply anti-wrinkle injections at strategic points around the lip area to relax the muscles, causing the upper lip to “flip” slightly upward and create the appearance of larger lips. If you’re keen to take the plunge, it’s always best to choose an experienced aesthetics practitioner. That way you can be confident the results will look beautifully natural, as opposed to an obvious “trout pout” effect.

      Bunny lines

Bunny lines may sound cute in theory, but we get lots of patients here at YourGP that tell us they are unhappy with the diagonal lines and wrinkles that appear on their nose as the result of their nasalis muscle contracting when they smile, laugh, or squint. Thankfully, this is easily treated with the application of anti-wrinkle injections in the area to relax the muscles, therefore reducing the appearance of these lines.

      11s

This refers to the vertical lines that often form between the brows, also known as the glabella. These lines can deepen with age, leaving a person with an angry expression, even when they are perfectly relaxed. The good news is that these lines can be significantly softened with dermal fillers and the area relaxed with anti-wrinkle injections to create a more neutral and youthful look.

      Golf ball chin dimples

It’s not just lines and wrinkles that our patients ask us to tackle – our treatments can effectively improve the texture of your skin too by targeting areas such the chin area which some people find becomes more dimpled in appearance as they age. With the careful application of anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers, the chin area can be smoothed out for a more youthful look.

      Whatever the treatment, choose wisely

If these definitions have helped to clear up confusion and you’re tempted to book in for a treatment, it is vital that you choose your aesthetic practitioner wisely. Here at YourGP, our aesthetics team are not swayed by the latest buzzwords and trends. Instead, we’re committed to providing subtle enhancements, for timeless, natural looking results.

We also firmly believe in educating and empowering our patients to make informed decisions. To that end, we provide a free initial consultation to ensure the treatment is right for you, we tailor treatment plans, and we provide expert aftercare advice to make sure you get the best results. If there is ever anything that you don’t quite understand, we are always happy to answer your questions, and our relaxed, no-rush approach to appointments gives you ample time to do so.

Finally, we prioritise your safety every step of the way. The aesthetic practitioners at YourGP are all medically trained, experienced, and strictly regulated by the General Medical Council. We are also members of the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP). We take an ethical approach to all we do and we would never administer an aesthetic treatment to someone under the age of 18. Plus, our aesthetic practitioners have extensive knowledge of facial anatomy, we know exactly where injections should and shouldn’t be administered, and we know how to minimise any potential risks.

      Book your free aesthetics consultation
