You could say Dr Reid’s passion for helping others runs in the family – at the age of 11 she moved from Glasgow to Geneva with her parents who were working with the International Red Cross. Following their example and with her heart set on a career in medicine, she returned to the UK, graduating from Bristol University Medical School with a MbChB and a BSc in Pharmacology.
Venturing north with her husband to start their own family, Morag joined the team at the Western General Hospital where she initially specialised in Internal Medicine and completed her MRCP exams. She enjoyed further posts in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Psychiatry, before going on to do her GP training at the Stockbridge Health Centre. She has since completed a one-year Postgraduate GP Fellowship in Paediatrics, and all whilst raising three children.9
As an experienced GP, Dr Reid enjoys the challenge and variety of dealing with anything and everything that comes through the door – from tiny newborn babies, to patients that have been coming to us for years – that’s why we like to think of Morag as the quintessential family doctor. In fact, she loves nothing more than when families refer to her as ‘their’ doctor.
You’ll find Morag doing alternate Sunday clinics at YourGP. Book an appointment with her and you can rest assured your family is in good hands.
